By downloading, installing, or using the Math Helper AI app or accessing this website, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the app or website.
These Terms apply to all users of the app, including users who access the website for informational purposes.
2) Using the app
Math Helper AI is an educational tool designed to help you solve and understand math problems. The app provides:
- Camera-based math problem scanning (OCR)
- Text input for typing math problems directly
- Five built-in local solvers (arithmetic, linear equations, quadratics, integrals, derivatives)
- Step-by-step explanations in 13 languages
- Optional AI-powered solving for advanced problems
- Local history and favorites for reviewing past problems
You are responsible for the math problems or text you enter and for how you use the results. The app is intended for educational use and personal learning.
3) Educational results; no guarantee of accuracy
Math Helper AI provides learning assistance. While we strive for accuracy, solutions, explanations, and answers may be:
- Incomplete or simplified for educational purposes
- Inaccurate due to OCR misrecognition of handwritten input
- Limited by the scope of local solvers for complex problems
- Subject to AI model limitations when using external AI
Always verify results, especially for homework submissions, exams, professional work, or any decisions where accuracy is critical. The app is a learning aid, not a replacement for understanding mathematics.
4) Optional external AI provider
The app may optionally send your math input to an external, OpenAI-compatible AI provider if you configure an API key and endpoint in Settings. This feature is entirely optional.
When using external AI:
- Only your math problem text is sent to the provider
- You are responsible for the costs associated with your API usage
- The external provider's terms of service and privacy policy apply to their processing of your data
- We are not responsible for the accuracy or availability of external AI services
We recommend reviewing the external provider's policies before configuring their API.
5) Local history storage
The app stores your solved problems locally on your device using Hive database so you can review them later. You have full control over this data -- you can delete individual entries, clear all history, or uninstall the app to remove everything.
No history data is transmitted to any server. Your local data is your responsibility to manage.
6) Acceptable use
You agree to use Math Helper AI responsibly. You must not:
- Use the app or website for any illegal activities or to process illegal content.
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or tamper with the app.
- Attempt to circumvent any security features or limitations of the app.
- Use the app to generate content that is harmful, abusive, or violates others' rights.
- Misuse the optional external AI functionality by submitting prohibited or inappropriate input.
- Redistribute, resell, or sublicense the app without authorization.
7) Intellectual property
The Math Helper AI app, its source code, design, graphics, icons, website content, and related materials are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
The solutions and explanations generated by the app's local solvers are for your personal educational use. Content generated by external AI providers may be subject to their respective terms of use.
8) Suspension or termination
We may suspend or discontinue access to the app or website at any time if:
- You violate these Terms of Service
- Required by law or regulatory obligation
- Necessary to protect the safety or rights of users
Since the app stores data locally on your device, your history and saved data remain accessible to you even if the app is discontinued.
9) Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Math Helper AI app and website are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.
We do not warrant that:
- The app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of bugs
- Solutions will be accurate, complete, or suitable for any particular purpose
- OCR recognition will correctly identify all handwritten or printed text
- External AI services will be available or produce accurate results
10) Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the app developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:
- Loss of data or profits arising from your use of the app
- Damages resulting from inaccurate solutions or explanations
- Damages arising from the use of external AI services
- Any inability to use the app or access the website
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations of liability. If your local law restricts these limitations, they may not apply to you to the extent prohibited by such law.
